SpecDock Terms of Use
1. Scope & Acceptance
These Terms govern SpecDock (iOS app + Mac CLI companion), provided by its individual developer ("we"; name and address are disclosed without delay upon request, per the Japanese commercial-transactions disclosure). Using the service constitutes acceptance. The Japanese version controls; English is a reference translation. These Terms are our own EULA and replace Apple's standard Licensed Application EULA; we register them in the App Store Connect License Agreement field (otherwise Apple's standard EULA would show and conflict with these Terms).
2. Service Composition & Nature
The iOS app is distributed via the App Store; reading/commenting on ONE project is free, and
additional features are unlocked by "SpecDock Pro". The Mac CLI companion (npm
specdock, run via npx) is FREE and needs no paid account. (a) The Mac companion
is required for real review/sync/Agent Handoff; a Sample Data Mode lets you experience the UI
without a Mac. (b) The app and companion sync locally over LAN/Bonjour or a manual URL;
document contents, comments, and review state are not sent to our cloud. (c) AI handoff
output does not guarantee correctness or completion of any AI fix; "All Clear" only means no
open review items in SpecDock.
3. Eligibility
For users 13+; minors need guardian consent. The iOS app requires an Apple ID; the companion requires a supported Mac. Minimum iOS: iOS 26.
4. Purchases, Auto-Renewal, Cancellation, Refunds (IAP)
SpecDock Pro is offered via In-App Purchase: Monthly and Yearly (both auto-renewable, 7-day free trial), and Lifetime (non-consumable, buy-once, no trial); prices (tax-included) are shown on the App Store purchase screen. The free trial is one per user per subscription group; if not cancelled it converts to a paid subscription at the price shown. Subscriptions auto-renew (monthly/yearly) unless cancelled; billing is managed by the App Store (StoreKit); renewal is charged within 24 hours before the current period ends; a 16-day Billing Grace Period applies. Cancellation is done by the user via Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on their device, at least 24 hours before the next renewal; auto-renewal is managed in the Apple ID account settings after purchase. Refunds follow Apple's App Store refund policy; digital content is generally non-refundable and not prorated; access continues until the end of the paid period. Lifetime is a non-consumable IAP (no renewal/trial/cancellation); it grants indefinite access and is restored via "Restore Purchases"; future features are not guaranteed.
5. Anonymous Auth & Accounts
We use a silent anonymous ID (auto-issued UUID) for entitlement management; no username/email/password registration and no user-initiated account-creation UI or login. On-device data is removable via in-app actions (clear cache, unpair, delete app); to delete the backend anonymous ID and billing records, contact the support address in the Privacy Policy.
6. Prohibited Conduct
No reverse engineering; no unauthorized copying/modification/redistribution; no unlawful or infringing use; no paid resale of the companion; no circumventing security (device-token auth, pairing); no unauthorized processing of third parties' confidential/personal data; no IP infringement; no disruption of the service.
7. Disclaimers
AI output (handoff artifacts, review output, and any Phase 2 LLM output) is not guaranteed for accuracy, quality, completeness, legal compliance, or outcome, and presumes human review. The companion is obtained and run at the user's own risk (verify checksum). Local network configuration/security is the user's responsibility. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We are not liable for indirect/consequential damages, lost profits, or data loss to the maximum extent permitted by law; where mandatory law (e.g., Japan's Consumer Contract Act) prevents full exclusion, that law prevails.
8. Third-Party Services
The service uses RevenueCat, Inc. (billing), Supabase Inc. (auth/database), and Apple Inc. (payments/distribution); users also agree to their terms. Third-party names/marks (Claude Code / Codex / Cursor / Tailscale / Git) are referenced only as factual compatibility statements, implying no partnership or endorsement.
9. Intellectual Property
IP in the service belongs to us or rightful owners. Whether to file the "SpecDock" trademark will be decided based on a clearance search; we make no "registered" trademark claims until that is confirmed.
10. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
Japanese law governs; exclusive first-instance jurisdiction is the Tokyo District Court.
11. Changes & Contact
We may change/suspend/terminate the service or these Terms with prior notice; continued use means acceptance. Contact: the individual developer via specdock.contact@gmail.com; name and address are disclosed without delay upon request.
